Training for edge correctness

Rate this Entry
Ever since Dtg got me on this 1000 cuts practice, I really have noticed a change in my hasuji (edge alignment) has improved considerably from where I was before I started training w/ this particular exercise. By repeating and repeating your cuts in practice builds muscle memory and allows the swing to eventually get to a second nature situation. Also, the healing after workouts seems to speed up as well. I am starting to have real belief that if one uses this technique of practicing each cut, one at a time, 100 to 150 per cut, you will improve with your swing even if you only train one to two days a week. Improvement also lies on the person training, so whatever put in will effect the training for the better or worse.

Training toward cuts can be fun, but being prepared for the cut with proper and correct training will effect how the test will eventually end and we all want that triple cut, so prepare correctly to achieve your goals and everything will eventually fall into place.

Take care and train safe.

Sounds pretty intense but does seem like a good idea. I know I need to increase the # of reps I do when I practice the cuts.

Tuesday, I have the joy of adding 25 more per cut making it 125 times 7...1000 cuts here I come. Just thinking about it makes me want to stretch.
